Welcome

This blog has two parts: Part A, My Rockport Story August 2017 and Part B, my 11-point Toolkit that I use to combat my suicidal thoughts.

Dear Friend,

I am glad you are here. I have struggled with suicidal thoughts and plans since I was nine years old. I am now in my 70s. If you are also struggling with suicidal thoughts—no matter how old you are—I understand. I have been there too. Teens and grade school kids, that includes you too! Don’t go away! Stay tuned! God is there for you. He wants to lead you to people who can help you. You are not alone! I only read and listen to people who will help me get up and out of the pit I am in.  It is possible, I know.  I listen only to people who will help me live the wonderful—but sometimes bumpy—life God has planned for me. I avoid people and internet sites that encourage suicide!!  I don’t keep suicidal thoughts secret.  Secrets are deadly.  I get help.  The first persons I contact are not always not the best ones for me.  I keep searching.

I am convinced that God sent me to tell you my story and how much he wants to give you His Love, His Joy, His Peace, and especially, His Hope. God wants you to get the help you need and deserve. This is a story about God bringing me out of the darkness and into the light His Love and Peace. A story about how God intervened, inspired and helped me. My spiritual director, Father Peter, encouraged me to write my story as God unfolded it.

I keep hearing statistics about the increase in suicide in all ages and walks in life—even some 10-year olds. It is now September 2018. After a lot of prayer, meditation and encouragement from Fr. Peter, I am convinced that God wants me to get this message of His Care and Hope to you. This message is for everyone—all 7.5 billion of us on the planet Earth. We are all God’s children, no matter what age, race, religion—or no religion at all. What we have done or have not done.

So, this is my story about suicidal thoughts and my encounters with God which I will share with you daily for next five days. After that, I will continue weekly posts of hope and encouragement so that you may know the love and “peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)

I apologize that I am not able to receive comments because I am not in a position to respond to  them at this time.

Love and Prayers
